Lansdowne Bhoys striker Ovan Oakley has been selected as the first CSL Division 1 Player of the Week of the 2017-18 season--and of the moden era of the league.

Oakley netted two goals and racked one assist against Central Park Rangers Whites in the season opener on Saturday night.

Oakley scored his first goal of the game in the 41st minute as he shot the ball over CPR's keeper from Micheal Holzer's pass. He netted his second goal by tapping Anthony Grant's cross in the net from inside the six-yard box.

The Jamaican had his assist an hour into the game when he guided Daryl Kavanagh to the net with a one-two.

Oakley led the Bhoys in scoring last season.

Zum Schneider's center back, Willya Mekolo, finished second in the voting. Mekolo scored a brace playing from the back in a 3-3 draw with last year's finalists NY Pancyprian Freedoms.
