APPEAL DENIED - As per CSL bylaws, the minimum penalty for any player action under the red card provisions is a one game suspension. In this particular case, the Referee Report from 9/15/19 did not arrive in time for proper League Notice to enforce the start of the suspension in advance of the next game on 9/22/19, though it was enforced in advance of the game after, thereby abiding by the CSL rules. Since it’s the Referee Report that drives decisions as to suspensions, the player was eligible to play in the next game.
However, given the fact that we are no longer in a player pass system, we need for referees to submit their reports on a timely basis, so that any actions can be immediately enforced. Also, we should be more clear in the bylaws that suspensions take effect based upon Referee Reports and change the references to player cards.
